LIPSCHULE Zurich is a private school in the district of Wollishofen which encompasses kindergarten and the 1st and 2nd grades of primary school (Cycle 1), Cycle 2 (primary level grades 3 to 6) and Cycle 3 (grades 1 to 3 of secondary school, as well as the 10th grade).

LIPSCHULE Zurich: Welcome to our private school!

At our state-recognized private school in Zurich, we have been offering children and young people a relaxed environment in which to develop their potential to the full since 1998.

Key factors here include a congenial atmosphere and committed, caring teaching staff. Our all-round approach to imparting knowledge, intensive support and spacious premises further reinforce the motivation of the students entrusted to us.

The private school with holistic nurturing, from kindergarten to the 10th grade

In line with Curriculum 21, we subdivide the various age groups at our private school into three cycles. The first of these follows the principles of the Montessori method of education, but skills orientation and pedagogical approach also play an important role in the other two cycles. The teaching staff not only plan methodologically and didactically varied lessons that are rich in subject-specific content, they also help students to learn independently.

• Cycle 1: Montessori kindergarten and Montessori school for students aged 3 to 9 years. Bilingual lessons, with German and English as the everyday and teaching languages.

• Cycle 2: What used to be known as primary level, for students aged 9 to 13 years, with teaching in German, English and French, including a transitional year if necessary.

• Cycle 3: What used to be known as secondary level, for students aged 13 to 16 years, with teaching in German, English and French, including 10th grade if necessary.

Our vision as a private school

“Learning is about the development of the individual” – this is the overriding principle of LIPSCHULE Zurich. Findings from neurobiological research show that children and young people have very individual ways of acquiring skills. As an educational institution we therefore feel we have a responsibility to create an environment in which they can develop to their full potential.

We do so by providing an excellent basis for the permanent accumulation of knowledge. This approach, based on a humanistic view of mankind combined with constructivist educational methodology, is one we adhere to at all teaching levels.

An apprenticing company

We are also an apprenticing company and train young people as care specialists EFZ. Care specialists (FaBe) support and look after the children at our school before, during and after lessons.
They promote their independence and social skills.
