Warm Chocolate Cake

Our head chef Alexander Fiechter shared one of his favourite recipes with us:

Fancy an unforgettable little sin?

You take:

150 g Dark Chocolate (The M-Budget dark chocolate is good)

150 g Butter

150 g Sugar

4 Eggs

30 g Flour

Makes around 6 portions

Step 1

Butter a cake form (18-20 cm) or line it with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 145 degrees Celsius.

Step 2

Place the chocolate and the butter in a bowl and slowly melt the ingredients in a hot water bath.

Step 3

Whisk the sugar and eggs and then add it to the chocolate, stir in well, fold in the flour and stir well again.

Step 4

Pour the mixture into the prepared cake form and bake for 45 minutes in the oven (145 degrees C) For the last 12-15 minutes increase the temperature to 160 degrees C.  Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool.

The cake should also be lightly creamy after cooling.

Cake stays fresh for 4 days in a refrigerator. Always serve the cake slightly warm. Serves well with vanilla ice cream and seasonal berries.

Enjoy baking and especially enjoying the recipe … yummy
