Basic levels 1 and 2 (Montessori kindergarten and Montessori school)

Following the Montessori principle to create a culture that fosters learnin

Children between 3 and 9 are full of energy and have an almost unquenchable thirst for knowledge. These are ideal prerequisites when it comes to helping them develop more initiative. At LIPSCHULE we also take into account their cognitive and artistic gifts as well as their social skills. Lessons are held in German and English. This allows our charges to learn about different forms of communication and cultures in a playful way. We also ensure they get enough physical activity to burn off surplus energy.  This not only has a positive impact on their future school careers, but also throughout their entire later lives.

What we offer – at a glance

  • Basic level 1 (Montessori): Kindergarten from age 3 up to the 2nd year of kindergarten.
  • Basic level 2 (Montessori): 1st to 3rd grade of primary school.
  • Kindergarten and primary school lessons are held in German and English.
  • Both levels have places for approximately 30 children each.

Our opening times and school hours

  • Monday to Friday from 7.30 am until 6.00 pm
  • Monday to Friday from 8.45 am until 3.45 pm
  • Supervision outside school hours from 7.30am until 8.30 am and from 4.00 pm to 6.00 p.m.
  • Holiday supervision

Special services

  • Nutritious and healthy lunches and snacks
  • Artistic and physical activity as an integral part of our curriculum
  • Twice as much music teaching as at public primary schools
  • Activities in nature
  • Additional courses in music and art when required
  • Professional mentoring of parents regarding questions of education
  • Instrument tuition mainly during school hours

At our private day school in Zurich, we encourage even our youngest pupils to learn independently: In other words, our 3- to 6-year-olds (incl. kindergarten) and the 6- to 9-year-olds (1st to 3rd grade of primary school), who we teach in accordance with the principles of the Montessori method
