A Moving Tragedy
The play addresses the tragic fate of 13‑year‑old Céline from Spreitenbach, who took her own life in 2017 as a result of severe cyberbullying. Through the connection to the real story («celinesvoice.ch»), the pupils gained a direct and emotional insight into the devastating consequences of digital exclusion and hate speech. The performance left a lasting impression and raised awareness among the audience for responsible behaviour on social networks.
Room for discussion and reflection
After the intense performance we did not leave the young people alone with their impressions. The theatre-education team from Schauspielhaus Zürich accompanied the project and led in-depth follow-up discussions with the pupils. In a protected setting questions could be clarified, feelings processed, and strategies against bullying discussed together.
A heartfelt thank you
We thank Schauspielhaus Zürich for this important contribution to prevention work. It was a moving morning that once again demonstrated how important empathy and civil courage—both offline and online—are for our coexistence.
