Building relationships with children and accompanying them during their most formative years is a daily source of enrichment for me.
For many people, a long bike ride is a weekend activity. For Mr Steinlin, it is part of his daily routine. Almost every day, whatever the weather, he rides his e-bike from Winterthur to Zurich and back again in the evening. For him, this hour on his bike is more than just a commute: it gives him distance, clarity and energy for the day ahead.
Energy that he needs. As co-managing director, Mr Steinlin is responsible for finance, HR, IT and marketing, conducts initial interviews with interested families and, if necessary, climbs a ladder to fix something that needs repairing.
Dealing with people has been a common thread throughout his professional career. Before joining Lip, he headed the HR department of the Environment and Health Protection Service at the City of Zurich. Prior to that, he worked in child psychiatry and social pedagogy. These experiences continue to shape his attitude and work with children and young people to this day.
When he moved to Lip in 2024, it didn't feel like a new beginning to him, but rather like the right step. Here, he can do what really suits him: meet children and young people, take them seriously, accompany them through challenging years and provide them with support as a reliable caregiver.
Mr Steinlin focuses on the organisation, further development and safe operation of the school so that the teaching team has the space to create a good school.
