Holistic and intergenerational
Every Friday afternoon the nature-oriented garden at Grenzsteig turns into a lively classroom. Under the guidance of Grit Röser, a regular group of children work continuously in the community garden of the eponymous association. What's special: here the children gain not only valuable knowledge about biodiversity and sustainable cultivation methods, but they also meet older club members. This makes gardening a valuable social experience.
From seed to natural dye
The focus is on experiencing cycles. The children learn which plants in the bed harmonise well together and take responsibility for their care. The work literally grounds them. But the project does not end at the bed: in the garden kitchen they prepare their own products such as syrup. In June we use the grown plants to make our own natural dyes in the studio. This holistic approach sustainably strengthens the children's sense of agency.
Holiday courses in the garden studio
Grit Röser regularly offers exciting holiday courses in the Grenzsteig garden beyond the school year. There, children can dive even deeper into the world of gardening and creative making.
