I Want the Moon
The fairy tale "A Moon for Princess Leonie" tells the story of a young princess who becomes ill and wishes for nothing more than the moon. The adults at the court get entangled in complicated considerations and deem the wish impossible to fulfill. Only the court jester, who understands the child's perspective, realizes that Leonore perceives the moon differently. He brings her a small, shiny moon hanging on a chain. Leonore is delighted, recovers, and falls asleep happily.
The Power of Listening
The fairy tale highlights the importance of listening, openness, and the courage to change perspectives. While adults often complicate problems, children approach the world with clarity and direct truthfulness. The story wonderfully illustrates that solutions can be found with a different perspective and simple thoughts.
From Fairy Tale to Practice
This attitude is also reflected in our educational everyday life: We actively listen to our schoolchildren, take their thoughts and feelings seriously, and understand them as valuable impulses. In this way, we create a space full of creativity and self-efficacy.
